Day 16 - May 23rd
(Great Falls to Kalispell)
Car 39 remains in 3rd place overall and 3rd in it's
class and was one of only three to complete today's second stage clean -
no faults!.
HALF WAY
POINT!
Day 18 - May 25th
(Coeur d'Alene to Osoyoos)
Having stepped up to equal 2nd place both
overall and in their Class yesterday, today saw Car 39 finish in 2nd place
both overall and in their Class - Well done Gerry & Matt!
Day 20 & 21 - May 27th & 28th
(Osoyoos to Vancouver & rest day in Vancouver)
Car 39 continues to run well and retained
it's 3rd spot overall and in it's class at the end of day 20. Unfortunately
day 21 saw the lead team (Paul & Sandra Merryweather) have to pull out and
return home due to family illness (we wish them well), that means that Car
39 the PHR Rally Team
step up to first place, both overall and in their class.
Keep it up guy's & ENJOY!
Day 23 - May 30th
(Quesnel to Smithers)
Car 39 commenced day 22 in first place with a
small lead of only 5 secs over the Jaguar MkII of Richard Worts and Nicola
Shackleton, a lead which by the end of the day they had stretched out to 10
seconds, a very small margin but it's heading in the right direction!
Day 27 - June 03rd
(Whitehorse to Dawson City)
Unfortunately day 27 saw Car 39 drop back
into 2nd place, now just 13 seconds behind the Jaguar MkII of Richard Worts/Nicola
Shakelton. A good nights rest will hopefully see a good start tomorrow as we
have no doubt that the PHR team will now pull out all stops in order to
regain that top spot as the end of the Trans America is now in sight.
Day 29 - June 05th
(Dawson Ferry - Fairbanks)
The end of day 29 saw Car 39 drop back a
further 8 seconds behind Car 32 (Jaguar MkII) to sit 38 seconds back and now
in equal 2nd place with the Jaguar E-Type of Phil Garratt/Kieron Brown who
gained on the PHR Team during the days event.
With only a few days left in this gruelling 8,500 mile distance event this
is looking to be a most exciting finish with the leader bunch of 4
competitors all sitting in a real position of potentially taking the lead
and the glory at rally end! Good luck all but particularly (for us) Car
39!
Day 31 - June 07th
(Finish Line - Anchorage)
The end of day 31, the final day of the 2012
Trans America Challenge and the PHR Rally Team in Car 39 finish up in equal
second place, both overall and in class, with the Jaguar E-Type of Phil Garratt/Kieron
Brown, 38 seconds behind Car 32 (Jaguar MkII) of Richard Worts/Nicola Shakelton,
the winner of the 2012 event.
After 31 days and more than 8,500 miles of rally just 38 seconds seperated
second place from first! and what is more a Leyland P76 battling against the
pair of Jags, a Jaguar MkII and E-Type.
Well
done to all those involved, a great event by the organizers and the many
volunteer marshals and helpers etc throughout the event and most of all:
