Chief Commissioner Metcalfe
reports once more of the service and support given to the local community by he and
the members of this unit throughout the Third quarter of 2008 Chief Commissioner Metcalfe
reports:...............
"During
this period we delivered 71 "Meals on Wheels" to the aged and infirm
in the town of Outlook.
The first weekend in August saw the town of Outlook celebrate its centenary in great style. I am pleased to state that we were given a place immediately behind the Royal Canadian Legion (Veterans) float - near the front of the parade. It was a proud moment for us all. Our float flew the Canadian flag, Hutt River flag and our own standard. We also carried out security duties at the Royal Canadian Legion Hall during the two day celebrations.
I have attached some snaps taken of some of
our unit preparing for the Outlook Centenary Celebration Parade.
My wife and I feel very honoured to have
received the Commander and Knight of the Illustrious Order of Merit
respectively and we will always wear the decorations with pride at
public functions should we be in uniform or not.
We send our loyal greetings to Prince
Leonard and trust that he is somewhat better now".
God Guard Thee and All Who Serve. G. B. Metcalfe K.I.O.M., A.M.M.
Chief Commissioner.
