Royal Hutt River Legion - Command HQ
Report.
(Nain, PRINCIPALITY of HUTT
RIVER) |
|
|
|
With the formation of the RHRL well underway,
much time has been spent now by Command HQ in Nain, establishing the new
branch of the RHRDF. Two units have been established already.
|
The first Platoon formed and whose
first quarterly "After Action" report is published below was the 1st
Barton Platoon in Perth, under the command of Lt Sir Richard Ananda
Barton. This unit has hit the ground running with many Actions already
carried out and moves underway to recruit more members and establish a
local command structure for the Platoon.
|
|
A second Platoon has commenced being
established in France, named the "1st Michaux Platoon" a local
commander, Brigadier Sir Philippe Michaux, is now being "kitted out" and
will shortly commence Active Service and amongst the first operations will
be the recruitment of further members to the Platoon. |
Command HQ has not been sitting on its
hands during this time, despite the mound of paperwork it has to maintain it
has also managed a number of Actions itself, not least of which include:
|
Working with Col Sir Bill Speir Jr,
Commander of the Royal Hutt River Military College in establishing and
publishing all of the command manuals for the Branch, as well as
recruitment application forms and records and all other paperwork to
provide the minimum necessary to Command such a Branch of the Defence
Force of the PHR.
|
|
Collection and delivery of three large
bags of quality second-hand and some new clothing delivered to Foodbank
warehouse in Geraldton for distribution.
|
|
Collection of a large number of books,
mainly paperbacks which will shortly be sorted and labeled with the RHRL
stickers designed & printed by HQ that are installed inside the cover of
all publications the RHRL is to donate. These books will start being
distributed in the new year. The collections of such items will be an
on-going task and will also be upgraded to include collecting of recent
magazines.
|
|
Recruitment drive started in order to
attract new members from around the world to the RHRL with the aim of
providing support and care for local communities and in so doing support
the PHR and its Sovereign as well as its Hon Colonel in Chief HRH Princess
Shirley. This has included the design and printing of promotional leaflets
which are being distributed far and wide.
