The Philatelic Department
of the Hutt River Postal Service is pleased to announce the issue of it's
set of 4 "Christmas 2009" Postage Stamps on The
stamps this year are of the common Bush Christmas Tree (Nuytsia
floribunda) that may be found growing prolifically throughout the
Principality and much of the South West of Western Australia also. Surprisingly, in an absolute first in the Philatelic history of this Nation, we are issuing a true set of triangular stamps, something never done before. The closest in the past being the triangular design of the 1990 Issue 38 "Principalities of the World" which however were printed as a triangular design but on a rectangular stamp. Whilst printed in low numbers, this issue is sure to make a great collector investment and the fact that it is the first issue of a triangular postage stamp by this Principality will only inflate it's collectability amongst philatelists and investors alike.
